Aislynn's birth story

It was six in the morning on Tuesday June 19th when I knew something was up...three hours later my water broke and Lance staggered getting ready while I kept telling him that we needed to get ready faster! Once we got to the hospital they told us I was a centimeter dilated and that this baby was coming TODAY! We got all set up in our labor and delivery suite and started having contractions. Family was in and out to see us and wish us well while we all got excited to meet our sweet girl. At around five o'clock the nurses could not find Aislynn's heartbeat and a bunch of doctors and machines came rushing into the room. Daddy and Nana had to stay behind while they wheeled us girls to the OR super fast. Six minutes later baby girl was out of mommys belly and received a blood transfusion because of a placenta abruption. When the nurse told daddy and nana that everything was ok and they both girls were safe, they let out a deep sigh of relief!
We were prepared to let our girl heal at the St.Annes nicu for just a few short weeks, but the next night we found out some startling news that required a transfer to children's hospital.
Aislynn was diagnosed with a jejunum artesian and had to have surgery to get it fixed at just four days old. While in surgery they found an intestine malrotation. Once she was out of surgery mom and dad spent many many hours at children's hospital while Aislynn got better and we finally got to bring her home just over a month after surgery.
God is so good for sparing mom and Aislynn's life and we thank Him everyday for the blessings He gives us, especially in crises, through friends, family, and His all consuming presence that has filled us with peace and endurance without which we would have never been able to handle such a trial.
